Rocket Launches At Daytona

Ryan Newman helped Roger Penske get a large monkey off his back Sunday at Daytona.  Newman gave Penske his first win on a restrictor plate race.  In the process, he picked up his first win in over two years and his first Daytona 500.

Engine Woes At Daytona

The camps of Hendrick and Gibbs are experiencing engine woes at Daytona.  The two major teams have had to replace engines prior to today’s Gatorade Duels, causing them to start from the rear of their respective fields.  The culprit appears to be lifters.

Unstoppable

That’s what Jimmie Johnson appears to be as the season comes to a close; unstoppable. Johnson has just put his number 48 Lowe’s Chevy on the pole for the final race of the season at Homestead. This will surely make Jeff Gordon’s job of catching him for the title that much harder.
