Toyota, Busch Finally Win

Kyle Busch finally leads Toyota to its first Sprint Cup victory, in its 40th start.  Kyle, the dominant car on the day, got the lead after Carl Edwards lost an engine with about 60 laps remaining to give Toyota its much deserved first win for the year.  From the looks of it, it won’t be the last, either. Edwards Hits Jackpot In Vegas

While several drivers hit the turn four wall, Carl Edwards hit the jackpot for the second week in a row at Las Vegas. The final green flag of the day flew with two laps to go and Edwards pulled away from Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for the win. Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton rounded out the top five. Power 10 For Las Vegas, Mar. 2

It took 24 hours to get the race in California completed, yet we still don’t have a good idea of who will be strong this season and who won’t.  If it wasn’t a water-induced crash, it was poor track conditions.  I don’t think the new car had much of a weekend, either, as the racing was not as close as we were led to believe it would be.  Not bad if you’re an Edwards fan, though. 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Predictions

This Saturday night, February 9, marks the official start of the 2008 season with the Budweiser Shootout. So, with this official start to the season, it’s time for this year’s predictions. As with last year, I’ll give predictions on the Comeback of the Year, Surprise of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Story of the Year, along with my prediction of the final 12 in the Sprint for the Cup. One For The Books

Jimmie Johnson became the first repeat champion yesterday for the first time since Jeff Gordon did it in 1997 & 1998. He did it in dominating fashion, winning four of the last five races.
