Tomorrow Is Next Year

May 23, 2007 — Racing With JR

NASCAR announced yesterday, Tuesday, May 22, that it will move ahead and the Car of Tomorrow, CoT, will be the only car used next year, 2008. This puts the car on track full time one year ahead of schedule. The move was made with the blessing of many, if not most, of the teams in the garage, especially the Toyota teams. Bill Elliott Behind The Wheel of a Ford Once Again

It was announced this week that Bill Elliott will once again be behind the wheel of a Ford, something he hasn’t done since the end of the 2000 campaign. Where will Jr. land?

So, the negotiations are over and the die is cast. Next year, Dale Earnhart, Jr. will drive for someone other than DEI. He will come out from under the shadow of his famous father and look to make it on his own. He’s looking for a championship and believes he needs to part with DEI to do so. Only time will tell.
