Thoughts On The Car Of Tomorrow

So, the first race with the Car of Tomorrow, CoT, has now taken place, making the car the Car of Today. Kyle Busch will go down in history as the first winner in a CoT. There was much talk afterwards about the car, both positive and negative.

Jeff Gordon Wins Another Bristol Pole

Jeff Gordon won yet another pole at Bristol. He was able to beat out the Dodge teammates of Kahne and Sadler to get the top spot in the Car of Tomorrow’s first race. Qualifying had many familiar names at the top, although there were a few surprises.

Car Of Tomorrow Arrives

Well, it’s finally here. The week when teams roll out the much anticipated Car of Tomorrow, CoT. NASCAR has been working on this car for several years, teams have been building them for about 6 months, and drivers have been complaining about it for about 3 months. This week it all comes down to race conditions at Bristol.

Johnson Dominant At Atlanta

Picking up right where he left off, Johnson left not doubt that he is more than ready to defend his Nextel Cup title. Leading the most laps, sometimes by some very large margins, Johnson won for the second week in a row.

Rocket Blasts Off At Atlanta

Ryan “Rocketman” Newman was atop the order when qualifying finished this week at Atlanta for the first time in a while. Newman had become known as a fast qualifier, but as of late has not made much noise in that department. Last night, he was more than one mile per hour faster than the next closest qualifier.

Johnson’s Gamble At Vegas Pays Off

With only a handful of laps remaining, Jimmie Johnson’s crew elected to take on right side tires for a run at the finish. That decision paid big dividends as Johnson was able to get by teammate Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton for the win. Afterwards, Johnson seemed to be the only one sympathetic to Goodyear and their harder compound tire.

Kahne And Dodges Dominate Vegas

Kasey Kahne captured the pole for the race this weekend in Las Vegas.  Kahne led a pack of Dodges atop the field.  Seven of the top ten were Dodges, three of those belonging to Ray Evernham.
