Jeff Gordon Wins Another Bristol Pole

Rocket Blasts Off At Atlanta

Ryan “Rocketman” Newman was atop the order when qualifying finished this week at Atlanta for the first time in a while. Newman had become known as a fast qualifier, but as of late has not made much noise in that department. Last night, he was more than one mile per hour faster than the next closest qualifier. Johnson’s Gamble At Vegas Pays Off

With only a handful of laps remaining, Jimmie Johnson’s crew elected to take on right side tires for a run at the finish. That decision paid big dividends as Johnson was able to get by teammate Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton for the win.
